PRESS RELEASE: VIP TO GOD RELEASES CRY BABIES

LILONGWE: 28 JUNE 2018

Maximum Sentence is hereby announcing the release of "Cry Babies" by VIP To God.
Also known as K-Bonnie, VIP To God on Friday 29 June releases his highly anticipated first single in 2018.

Produced by Venom, "Cry Babies" is a song which summarizes global issues ranging from politics, social-economic to environmental issues.

"I feel like Malawi operates as an island forgetting that we are living in a global village. Often times, we tend to ignore global issues such as economy, politics and environment. I believe artists should express themselves regardless of boundaries," VIP To God explains.

He adds: "This song is non-partisan. I am not targeting any political grouping or individual. I am simply questioning on what basis do we celebrate independence. Are we really independent when Malawi still depends on donor aid? Most Malawians still depend on the culture of handouts. The big man syndrome still affects us. We are not free, we are still not independent."

"Cry Babies" is the first of a series of singles to released before his yet to be titled EP drops this year.

Commenting on name change, he said: "For the past years, I have been fighting drug, alcohol and substance abuse. God has been by my side and we are winning. I believe I am a very important person to God hence the name "VIP TO GOD".

CRY BABIES LYRICS

Artist: VIP TO GOD
Title: Cry Babies
Producer: Venom

Verse 1

U ain't independent when your mind ain't free, word to dead presidents, let's get free/ Free from corruption, free from poverty, free yourself from mental slavery/ in this trying times we face our adversary, media feeding us with propaganda yet we still celebrate anniversary/ Lest we forget, children died at the Stadium, Lest we forget, Malawi mourned on this day/ It’s a moral decay, we pretend Chasowa never died on a certain day/ 50 years, they still suppress freedom of speech, say otherwise you end up in a ditch/ MRA shutting down private media houses claiming they don't pay taxes/ MACRA taking sides

Hook

Cry babies
50 years wearing diapers
Cry babies
Clever with Twitter fingers
Cry babies
Same song every year
Scared to speak, so much fear (Repeat)

Verse 2

Harshtag generation, revolution around world, time up, me too taking down Harvey Westain/ Donald Trump running the world via tweets at the same time Malawians hiding in the sheets/ May 27, Mtambo and Trapence took it to the streets/ Cowards stayed home hiding behind the screens/ Busy spreading lies and fake news on WhatsApp forums/ They rather share pornography, they ignore reading national columns/ What happened to young Malawians taking responsibilities creating a world of opportunities, now we change nationalities running away from calamities/ What happened to demand a better Malawi? Never start what you can't finish, never bite more than you can chew

Hook

Cry babies
50 years wearing diapers
Cry babies
Clever with Twitter fingers
Cry babies
Same song every year
Scared to speak, so much fear (Repeat)

Verse 3

Donald Trump, a mockery of a President, childish and dumb, the only smart thing he ever done, meeting Kim Jong Un/ Good luck on that denuclearization deal, but why you wanna start a trade war with aluminium and steel? U don't mind about global warming, you don't care about the environment, everything you do is for your own appeasement/ Israelis, Palestinians died when you opened that embassy, take it as a man, you got blood on your hands/ ISIS, crisis where Christ is? Taliban in Iraq, Bombardments in Syria, thousands getting killed/ volcano in Guatamala, Jimmy Morales under fire/ protests in Jordan and Nicaragua

Hook

Cry babies
50 years wearing diapers
Cry babies
Clever with Twitter fingers
Cry babies
Same song every year
Scared to speak, so much fear (Repeat)
